Troy, a place of legends and a place of history.

One of the most famous cities of ancient history, the mythological city of Troy dates back to the early Bronze Age. Best known as the famous city of Helen and the horse of Trojans from Homer's Iliad, there is a large reconstruction of the wooden horse located next to the museum.

Close by the Dardanelle Straights, Troy's ruins speak to us in a way that time has been unable to destroy. There are traces of succeeding civilizations in Troy's many layers of earth; civilizations that replaced one another dating back as far as 4,000 B.C. From the terrace on the Acropolis of Troy the entire panorama of the ruins can be seen with the sea in the distance. The ruins of the Gate of Dardanus, where, in the Iliad, the Trojan hero Hector was killed by Achilles, are most evocative.

Istanbul
Istanbul
Istanbul is a city built on layers of empire. Spanning two continents, it was once the capital of three major empires: Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman. Visitors walking through the Sultanahmet district can witness this timeline firsthand, from the Roman-era Hippodrome to the Byzantine mosaics of Hagia Sophia, and the towering minarets of the Blue Mosque. At nearby Topkapi Palace, rooms still display the jeweled swords, ceremonial robes, and handwritten Qurans once used by Ottoman sultans.

Cappadocia
Cappadocia
The ancient region of Cappadocia lies in Central Anatolia, between the cities of Nevsehir, Kayseri and Nigde. Here, the traveler finds one of the most fantastic landscapes in the world. Wind and weather have eroded the soft volcanic rock with hundreds of strangely shaped pillars, cones and "fairy chimneys", often very tall, and in every shade from pink through yellow to russet browns.
