A Taste Of Dubai

This global city and business hub of the Middle East holds savory treasures just waiting for you to taste. The largest and most populous city in the UAE, Dubai resides on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is the capital of the Emirate of Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the country.

A Taste of Dubai

There is no better way to discover a new place besides tasting the local flavors that make the area unique and special. On this oriental culinary experience, you will indulge in some of the more popular Middle Eastern flavors on this journey by foot around Old Dubai.

There is not just one style of food in Dubai, but rather you can get almost any kind of food you desire. The main restaurants in the region take inspiration from Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. With influences from all over the world contributing to Dubai's rich food scene, there isn't a single cuisine on the planet that can't be found in the city. However, the undoubted king of the Dubai culinary landscape is Middle Eastern cuisine. With countries from all over the region, including its own traditional Emirati, the flavors blend together creating a culinary hybrid that has become synonymous with the city.

Begin your discovery in the Old Quarter of Al Bastakiya, where you will visit the region's only Coffee Museum for an interesting insight into regional and global coffee history. A cup of Gahwa, Arabic coffee kickstarts your tour. This traditional end to any Middle Eastern meal is coffee accompanied with dates, usually served without milk and in tiny cups. It can be flavored with a range of spices from saffron to cardamom.

Stop next at a traditional cafe, and sit and relax in the calm space that contrasts with the busy street setting. Try a Lebanese breakfast favorite, a cheese or zaatar manakesh. Originally a simple, doughy flatbread, the manakesh has now evolved into a pizza-like creation, often topped with cheese and spiced minced beef or lamb.

Continue strolling past Al Fahidi Fort into the bustling Souk Al Kabeer where a brisk trade in garments, spices and more is afoot. Stop briefly for delightfully refreshing lemon-mint juice before discovering a creek-side hidden gem.

Dig into a shared platter of Arabic Mezzeh while you watch Abra boats tirelessly cross Dubai Creek. Later take this traditional wooden craft across the creek to Deira. A pleasant stroll brings you to a popular creek-side restaurant for a taste of Shawarma and Falafel, the most ubiquitous of Arab street foods. Shawarma can be prepared with tender strips of chicken or meat flavored with a heady mix of spices, cooked on a rotating spit and then crammed into flatbreads full of crunchy lettuce, hot sauce and yogurt, it's easy to see why this is one of Dubai's most popular dishes. Falafel is another classic that can be found on the menu of pretty much any Middle Eastern restaurant, falafel is a fried ball made from ground chickpeas or fava beans and spices and is the perfect street food.

Your final stop is at a renowned Emirati restaurant where the subtle flavors of the Orient will seduce you and where the delicate fragrances will stay with you long after the meal. No Middle Eastern journey is truly complete without exploring the Emirati cuisine.

To accomplish this, we have compiled an exceptional array of tours delivered by local experts with decades of experience serving travelers and delivering excellent tours. We are experts in providing exceptional shore excursions. We understand that in today's fast paced world, vacations have become an increasingly important way to relax, reconnect with family and friends, and experience new and interesting places. With this in mind, we provide the highest quality tours by performing extensive research, and detailed reviews. While other companies also offer excursions, we strongly believe our expertise and approach set us apart. The large cruise lines sell shore excursions - typically in very large groups visiting high traffic sites. We focus on smaller groups visiting more interesting and authentic locations using more personalized local operators. While the cruise lines are experts in delivering cruises, we are experts in delivering shore excursions.

Our Approach
We believe quality service is not only highly valued by customers, but ultimately leads to better experiences and higher satisfaction. Unlike the cruise lines and other tour companies that rely almost entirely on websites, we encourage customers to call us. We want to invest our time answering your questions, providing input, and selecting the excursions that best meet your needs.

Our goal is to provide customers a wide array of exciting, appealing, and enriching tours. For those customers who prefer to travel in smaller groups with more personalized service, we offer a wide variety of small group tours around the world. These tours generally range in size from 2-12 people compared to larger tours which can number up to 50 people. While exploring the destinations and ports on this website, feel free to search for these "Small Group Tours". For those customers interested in private tours, we offer many outstanding excursions that allow you to travel with your party alone and, in many cases, to fully customize your tour. Search for "Private Tours" if you are interested in this experience. Our "Scenic" tours provide up close and personal access to some of the most spectacular natural environments on Earth from majestic glaciers in Alaska to spectacular reefs in the Caribbean. Our "Cultural" tours allow customers to experience local customs, entertainment and culinary delights ranging from tribal dances in Alaska to an outstanding local meal in Santorini, Greece. Our "Active" tours offer a multitude of exciting and adventurous ways to experience our destinations.
